#Ski lifts What's new for Val Thorens' ski area - Winter 2014/15

Published the 23 September 2014

Devoted this time solely to Val Thorens, this is the second installment of what's new on the ski lifts and ski area for winter 2014-2015,

After 4 chair lifts were modernised or replaced in 2013, 2 ski lifts have been totally refurbished this year for improved comfort and reliability.

This is all part of a move to modernise the ski area that began in 2005 with the refurbishment of the Cairn/Caron gondola lifts. This season, some 20 million euros are being invested by the SETAM (Val Thorens' ski lift management company) in an aim to innovate and improve performance.

Its departure point has been moved 100 metres lower down, placing it right in the centre of skier flow.
