#Ski New ski lifts and runs in Les 3 Vallées

Published the 10 October 2013

We've given you all the latest information on what's new with the ski lifts for the winter 2013-2014 season in Val Thorens, so here's a quick spin around what's new in terms of ski lifts and runs in Les 3 Vallées.

Les Menuires:

Two new developments for the Belleville valleys this season:
A mini speed skiing run (KL) for everyone from beginners to experienced skiers to measure their top speed in complete safety. Access via the Sunny Express chairlift.

"Nature Zones" (ungroomed runs) for skiers of all levels to enjoy snowsports in a specially marked, safe area to discover the thrills of powder snow!

The second Saulire cable car in Courchevel has just been given a complete facelift after more than 2 months of work. Warm colours have been used for a touch of glamour to contrast with the sports chic style of the first car that had the same treatment last year.

There have been quite a few changes in Méribel too, with upgraded runs such as the Roc de Fer, enabling you to try out the World Cup downhill run (and pretend you are a champion for a while!), the extended boardercross and wider Doron run to make the journey back easier.

There will also be a new fun zone on the Louveteaux run (Altiport zone), with lots of children's games on an Eskimo theme!

And finally, the Méribel snowpark or 'Moon Park' now boasts new foam modules, so there's nothing stopping you having your first go at Freestyle.

La Tania:

Our tour of Les 3 Vallées ends with la Tania ski area - lots of changes to the ski lifts this winter:

The construction of a TSD6 Bouc Blanc 6-seater detachable chairlift has allowed for the removal of 3 previous systems: the TSF2 at the Col de la Loze, the TSF3 at Les Crêtes and the Praz-Juget T-bar lift. This means quicker access and greater comfort for skiers , and of course the landscape looks much better for it, too.

The Bouc Blanc drag lift will now be known as the Stade drag lift (line made shorter).

As I finish this article, the snow is back in Val Thorens and I must confess that seeing the mountains wearing their beautiful white mantel makes me want to get out there on my skis and explore all the new facilities!
I expect you feel the same - on the other end of the livecams... =)
