Dutch Week
From 30th April to 7 May

The Dutch are coming to Val Thorens every winter at the occasion of the Dutch week, to celebrate their Queen anniversary (Koninginnedag). It's a popular celebration where ski and animations follow one another. The orange colour is in favour this week !

The special torchlight descent for children
All the season long

The special torchlight descent for children : with ski instructor, on the « voie lactée » slope. From 2nd star level. The electric torch is offered. Then parents and children are together to share a hot chocolate.

The Val Thorens "Classic and Jazz" Association has been offering you, for 15 years running, a concert (classic or jazz) every Tuesday at 6.30 pm in the Val Thorens church whose acoustics are excellent and whose Steinway grand piano is the highest in Europe.

Multi activity challenge (Prosneige)
All season long

The ski school Prosneige propose entertainments every Mondays or Sundays in the end of the afternoon : snowshoe relay, petanque, miniature golf on snow, human curling, telemark introduction.... The animatiosn are free and open to all.

The North Face Ski Challenge presented by Gore-Tex
From 25th to 27th March 2011

The North Face® Ski Challenge" presented by Gore -Tex® comes back for the fourth consecutive year in Val Thorens !

The finale of the Ski Challenge comes back on the culminating point of the 3 Vallées, in Val Thorens, to designated the winners of the tour. 

Created in Val Thorens in 2006, it is a unique competition in France dedicated to young ones, Europeans, boys and girls, born between 1990 and 1996. This circuit mixes freeride and freestyle to point out the best free skiers of tomorrow. 

Started in Finland before Christmas, it then gathered the best free skiers in Germany, Austria, Czec Republic, Slovaquia, Norway, Sweden, Italy and France. 

This year, more than 75 participants of 16 nations will compete to designate the best freeskier of the year and this one will be rewardedse by a sponsoring bourse from The North Face and Atomic.

Like last year, the finale will be lengthen of a day with a competition on the mountain safety, made of 3 workshops: first aid, "slope reading", looking for victims stuck under avalanches with ARVA and RECCO. 

Finally, the programme of this finale will be followed by a concert. Surprise artist !
