Snowboard Cross French cup
13th and 14th of march 2010
Come admire the Snowboard French elite on the 2 Lacs Boardercross (access via the 2 Lacs chairlift)
The snowboard cross : its a combination of jumps and obstacles. The athletes are going 4 by 4 on a hilly slope covered with naturals and artificial obstacles. The 2 best will be qualified for the next run till the final.
Its recent accession to the Olympic status, promise a bright future for this spectacular and media-related discipline.

Multi activity challenge (Prosneige)
All season long
The ski school Prosneige propose entertainments every Mondays or Sundays in the end of the afternoon : snowshoe relay, petanque, miniature golf on snow, human curling, telemark introduction.... The animatiosn are free and open to all.
Sundays during the school holidays : 21st and 28th of February
Mondays : 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of March, 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of April and 3rd of May
Meeting at the Place Caron, from 4.30 p.m

The Val Thorens "Classic and Jazz" Association has been offering you, for 14 years running, a concert (classic or jazz) every Tuesday at 6.30 pm in the Val Thorens church whose acoustics are excellent and whose Steinway grand piano is the highest in Europe.

Jazz concert: Trio
Pierre Calligaris French specialist of the piano Stride. Pierre Calligaris excel in every domain contrary to the mechanical game of most of the actual specialists, he keeps by interpreting the boogie with a sovereign facility in the agility of his left hand and the succession of exciting riffs. A true pro !! He will be accompanied by the excellent Yves Garriod at the double bass and the drummer scatter Lionel Grivet.

Ski Cross French and European Cups
From 18th to 21st March 2010
Come admire the Ski Cross French and International elite is going to compete on the 2 Lacs Boardercross (access via the 2 Lacs chairlift)
FIS discipline since 2001, the Ski Cross, 4 or 6 skiers at the same time, consists in going down a hilly slope covered with naturals and artificial obstacles, of 100 to 200m of change in altitude with a 15% gradient.
The classification : after a single run, the athletes qualified for the final will compete by team of 4 or 6. The 2 or 3 first of each team will go through the next round.
Its recent accession to the Olympic status, promise a bright future for this spectacular and media-related discipline. A lot of Alpine skiers are now going for Ski Cross to find, beyond a technical ski, a direct confrontation in a Freestyle culture.

The North Face Ski Challenge presented by Gore-Tex
From 26th to 28th March 2010
The North Face® Ski Challenge" presented by Gore -Tex® comes back for the fourth consecutive year in Val Thorens !
The finale of the Ski Challenge comes back on the culminating point of the 3 Vallées, in Val Thorens, to designated the winners of the tour.
Created in Val Thorens in 2006, it is a unique competition in France dedicated to young ones, Europeans, boys and girls, born between 1990 and 1996. This circuit mixes freeride and freestyle to point out the best free skiers of tomorrow.
Started in Finland before Christmas, it then gathered the best free skiers in Germany, Austria, Czec Republic, Slovaquia, Norway, Sweden, Italy and France.
This year, more than 75 participants of 16 nations will compete to designate the best freeskier of the year and this one will be rewardedse by a sponsoring bourse from The North Face and Atomic.
Like last year, the finale will be lengthen of a day with a competition on the mountain safety, made of 3 workshops: first aid, "slope reading", looking for victims stuck under avalanches with ARVA and RECCO.
Finally, the programme of this finale will be followed by a concert. Surprise artist !

Val Thorens offers a magical moment, in the evening where kids and adults will compete on the longest toboggan slope in France (6 km long).
More than a competition, the Val Thorens Luge Cup is a moment to enjoy and guaranteed laughter for everybody ! Concert and giant tartiflette will reward the participants at the arrival.

Our teams are travelling to all corners of Europe this winter to let you test out the latest innovations in the Rossignol range and benefit from the many animations and games.
The Rossignol Demo Tour it's 9 countries, 136 events, 270 days on the snow and a last stop at Val Thorens to end the winter season.
We are waiting for you Place Caron from 9.30am to 4.30pm!

Kontum - Snake Run Contest
24th and 25th April
The Kontum Snake Run Contest is a friendly Snowboard and Ski (New!!) competition with as an objective to help the mountain people from Vietnam to develop (farming project, traditional hand crafted development, cultural patrimony protection, scholarships....)
Last year, for the 2009 edition, David Durand won and the benefit were roughly around 4785 € !!!!
Riders, pros or amateurs wil be waiting for you for this 2nd game ...
Polo Delerue, Sophie Rodriguez, Camoins.....are already planning to come !

Kontum - ''Big Ski Week-end''

The AMPHOR-Vietnam, AMEV and this year ALSO associations organise the 14th "Big Ski Week-end" in Val Thorens from the 29th of April to the 2nd of May.
On the programme, day skiing supervised by ski instructors or free, theme nights, Giant slalom....
The Objective : give all of the money from this stay to the 3 associations who organise the event in order to carry to equip the hospitals, clinics and orphans of Vietnam and to save the cultural identity of the mountain people of this country.
If you or people around you are interested by this sports humanitarian help, you just need to register by downloading and filling the registration form and enclose a check of 420 € (confer the technical slip below), payable to « AMPHORE-Vietnam » before the 15th of March 2010.
