#Ski En route to Sochi!

En route to Sochi!

Published the 04 February 2014

The atmosphere has been building for days now... Posters are popping up everywhere and French flags are waving proudly from balconies! In just a few days, 3 of Val Thorens' own will launch themselves onto Sochi's slopes to compete for the Olympic Holy Grail.

50 years after the Innsbruck Olympic Games when the Goitschel sisters did the double, Jean-Fred and Adrien will attempt to go down in winter sports history. They weren't even born in 1964 when Christine and Marielle took home their Gold medals but one thing's for sure, the sisters will have been a real source of inspiration to this year's competitors.

How long a journey it's been since their first runs down Val Thorens' slopes. Through hard work, perseverance and sacrifice, they've arrived at the doorway to snow paradise!

3 athletes, 3 disciplines.

Chloé...the youngest!

At just 19 years old, Chloé TRESPEUCH, will be taking part in her first Olympic Games in snowboard-cross. Currently 11th overall in the World Cup ranking, the 2011 Junior World Vice-Champion will try to pull herself up to the world top 5 and why not... to the Olympic podium!

Jean-Fred... set for the double!

Ski cross is his specialism. Official World Champion, Jean-Fred CHAPUIS will be amongst the favourites on the Sochi starting line. Winner of the final stage in the European Cup, the French-Swiss athlete is on course for a magnificent double... by following up a world title with an Olympic medal!

Adrien...experience and serenity

4 years ago he finished 9th on the slopes of Vancouver... on the 25th of January he finished 4th on the Streif in Kitzbühel. Adrien THEAUX, 5th in the Downhill World Cup ranking is currently France's top downhill skier!
His heart is sure to be racing like mad on the starting line. Adrien, your day of glory is here!
