The Ski Domain

The Ski Domain

For all disciplines, for all abilities!

The French call it ’glisse’. More fun than glide, and way sexier than slide, big-mountain glisse is what it’s all about in Val Thorens. Meaning? Doesn’t matter whether you are a skier or a snowboarder – a racer, a freestyler a carver or a freerider – the resort’s great snow, long season and outstanding alpine terrain make it possible for just about any glisse enthusiast to find something to rave about. Accessible and fun within the ski area boundaries, more technical and demanding as you leave the lifts behind, the Val Thorens domain also boasts an impressive 1430m vertical drop (from 1800m-3230m). So what are you waiting for? Get in the glisse!

What's new in 2011-2012

Three Ski Domains

Val Thorens Now Offers You The Choice Of Three Ski Domains:

Val Thorens-Orelle (150 km of runs); la Vallée des Bellleville (300 km of runs) and Les 3 Vallées (600 km of runs).

Val Thorens is big on the white stuff too. Given its lofty altitude (most of the skiing here is above 2000 metres) and its ultra-modern snowmaking network (with over 2000 guns spread across Les 3 Vallées), Val Thorens can virtually guarantee great snow conditions – from December until April!

Fast, fun and reliable: the Val Thorens lift system virtually defines the leading edge when it comes to innovation and comfort. Explore this vast mountain domain to your heart’s content with a modern lift network that is both safe and enjoyable to ride.

Val Thorens also boasts an impressively long ski season: from November 24th, 2011 to May 8th, 2012.

Val Thorens doesn’t skimp on its on-mountain installations either. There’s a snowpark, a boardercross, a slalom stadium that hosts the most prestigious of events, a junior park entirely dedicated to the younger set, a 6 km-long long toboggan track and yet another smaller one for kids… Remember: you’re in Val Thorens, glisse heaven – for all tastes, all ages and all abilities!
