Coming back in style!

To kick start the winter season and get things going in style, the resort opening will be marked this year by 2 large-scale snowsports events :

- The resort is welcoming the 4th edition of the Ski Force Winter Tour (on the 19th and 20th of November), a chance to try out the new ski collections of 16 of the biggest brands on the market

- The Rock On Snowboard Tour for the very first time (26th and 27th of November), so visitors can test snowboard collections from 30 major snowboarding brands.

The Thorens Funitel

The Thorens Funitel This winter, Val Thorens will be putting its 4th Funitel lift into operation. This back-and-forth Funitel lift is made up of 2 trains, each with two 33-seater cabins (transporting 1,500 people per hour) and will take passengers to the Col du Bouchet, at an altitude of 3,003 metres, from the top of the Portette chair lift (2,795 metres).

More runs than ever!

More runs than ever! Two new runs come with the arrival of the Thorens Funitel: one red, “Les Asters”, and one blue, “Le Chocard”.

To get even more from skiing in the sunny Plein Sud sector, a new red run, the “Triton”, has beencreated at the top of the Bouquetin Funitel lift.

The “2 Combes” blue run has been extended from the top of the Cascades chair lift and is now a green run so beginners can experience some real height.

The red “Béranger” run has had its lower half completely reworked.

The Val Thorens ski area now includes 150 kilometres of Alpine ski runs.

Artificial snow

Artificial snow SETAM is extending its snow guarantee further than ever before by adding more than 5 kilometres of artificial snow networks in the lower part of the ski area (on the Tétras, Plan de l’Eau and Boulevard Cumin runs) between 2,200 and 1,800 metres, the lowest runs on the ski area, and installing new even more energy-efficient snow cannons.

This means that every ski lift in Val Thorens will have access to at least one snow-guaranteed ski run.

Péclet funitel lift

Péclet funitel lift SETAM is extending and reorganizing the reception hall of the Péclet Funitel lift’s departure station in order to create better access to the lift and ski pass sales desk, as well as providing a better information service at the foot of the slopes.

Wi-fi on the ski area

Wi-fi on the ski area Even more Wi-Fi hotspots will be available in addition to those established last winter, in the departure stations of the Péclet Funitel lift, the Cairn/Caron gondola lifts, and the Caron cable car. SETAM is equipping its buildings with three new free Wi-Fi hotspots, located at the departure stations of the Plein Sud, Bouquetin, 3 Vallées 2 and Moraine ski lifts.
