A little closer to the stars, get to know them better! 2 weeks totally dedicated to the discovery of the stars await you thanks to multiple workshops led by experts.

Observation of the sun and the moon, workshops on the planets, a great programme awaits you!

Also discover an exhibition on the observation of the sky at the tourist office.

 

From Monday to Thursday (from 14 to 17 and from 21 to 24)

  • 1pm-6pm: Opening of the space station - Place Caron. You’ll find 3 inflatable rockets, an exhibition on moon exploration, as well as a number of unusual objects. Observe the sun and the solar eruptions through a telescope.
  • Planetarium sessions: Place Caron - 20 to 30 minute slots - From age 3 - Limited places available, sign up at the Tourist Office - Masks must be worn

 

Sunday 13th and 20th February

  • 8pm: Sky and star gazing with a telescope under the guidance of an expert
    • Place: Place Caron
    • Froma age 3 - free entry - mask must be worn

 

Monday 14th and 21th February

  • 1pm-6pm: The little Monday classes - Your eyes are your instrument. For thousands of years, mankind deciphered the skies using nothing more than their eyes. Thanks to their careful observation, amazing discoveries were made! During this session, you’ll learn how to use a sky map to help you find your way around the stars!

  • 9pm: Astronomy evening - Observation of the sky on screen. Images produced and commented on in real time.

Tuesday 15th and 22nd February

  • 1pm-6pm: The little Tuesday classes - Telescope revolution. From 1609, a few men observed the sky using Dutch perspective glasses, followed by telescopes. This enabled them to see new details in our solar system and to bring about a lot of new discoveries. You will discover how Dutch perspective glasses and telescopes work.

  • 9pm: Astronomy evening - Observation of the sky using instruments. The magic of “real” observation of some of the most beautiful
    celestial objects visible.

Wednesday 16th and 23rd February

  • 1pm-6pm: The little wednesday classes - Observation and the study of light. The light emitted by the stars is full of messages. By breaking them down, scientists can work out the distance, mass, the presence of extra solar planets and the movement of stars! You will observe the properties of light, analyse the quality of your sky and the temperature of certain stars.

  • 9pm: Astronomy evening - The magic of the aurora borealis. A meeting to learn more about this magnificent phenomenon that can be seen in Polar regions by our astronomists who have just returned from a recent exploratory visit to Iceland.

Thursday 17th and 24th February

1pm-8pm: The little thursday classes - The future of astronomy with the new space telescope. The earth’s atmosphere blocks certain light waves, which is
why telescopes and probes have been sent into space. The information collected in this process created a whole new set of questions. You will understand what it takes to investigate the mysteries of the universe, and you will learn how to recognise artificial stars too. Observe the starry sky at the end of the day.
