Summer in Val Thorens, we move! In addition to all the activities offered in our beautiful Belleville Valley, our service providers give you the opportunity to try canyoning in magnificent canyons at the bottom of the valley.
What is canyoning?
Canyoning is a white water sport that combines several disciplines: hiking, climbing, mountaineering and caving. In the Alps, it can be practised from mid-June (following the melting of the snow) until the end of September.
It is an activity to be practised in day or half-day, as well as between friends as in family. Children are accepted from 10 years old and must be able to swim.
Our canyoning spots
- The "Pussy" canyon (less than 10 km from Moûtiers)
- The Eaux-Rousses canyon (less than 10 km from Moûtiers)
- The Bénétant canyon at La Bâthie
- The Montmin canyon on the edge of Lake Annecy
- The canyon of Angon on the edge of Lake Annecy
- The Groin canyon north of Lake Bourget
- The canyon of Chaley at the north of the lake of Bourget
Rates and services offered
By La Maison des Guides et de La Montagne
- Half day (3h) in the canyon of "Pussy", Eau Rousse or Bénétant: from 70€ per person
- Full day (5h) in the canyon of Montmin or in Italy: from 95€ + transport
- Groups are composed of a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 9 people. You can benefit from a family price from 6 people.
- All equipment is provided (wetsuit, harness, helmet, belayer, descender...)
- Children are accepted from 11 years old.
- Allow 1 hour to get to the "Pussy" and Eau Rousse canyons. The journey is at your own expense, with your own vehicle. You will meet directly at the canyon.
- It is possible to do two different canyons on the same day or in 2 half days: 140€ per person
- You will be supervised by a UIAGM mountain guide or a climbing instructor. The voluntarily limited number of participants allows us to offer you a quality service.
