The Montagnettes path
Facing south, the path starts from Les Balcons district, in the direction of Les Menuires, to arrive at the Montagnette (small stone house). Once there, turn around and enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Péclet massif as you return to Val Thorens.
If you wish to extend the walk, it is possible to go down to the Bruyères district in Les Menuires.

The Marine path - Closed for the end of the season
This trail can be done entirely on foot from the Chalet du Cosmojet, going up and down, or with less effort by taking the Cascades chairlift up and the trail down.
This beautiful sunny 5km path (round trip) offers a panoramic view of the resort and its cirque surrounded by peaks at over 3000 metres.
If you go up on foot, once at the foot of the Castor and Pollux carpets take the direction of the Chalet du Cosmojet.
If you go up by chairlift, exit the chairlift on your left. Then take the path which describes a wide curve on the left. Join the Chalet de la Marine, then cross the Dalles piste, walk along the Tête Ronde lake on the right and follow the ridge before reaching the Chalet de Thorens. Make a diversion to the unusual Igloo Village. Return gently to the resort by the Flocons piste, crossing the Combe de Thorens to return to the Chalet du Cosmojet.

The Moutiere path - Closed for the end of the season
Take the departure of the “2 Lacs” path till a large plateau. Continue on your right and join the dams (be careful not to get over the fence and stay off the lakes). You will arrive close to the "Crossing of 2 Lakes 2" piste, “2 Lakes” restaurant and a chairlift of the same name. The path continues downhill by the “Linotte” piste and joins Moutière plateau with a restaurant of the same name and an altisurface. On the right, walk along the Moutière dam and admire the view over the Valley of Belleville. To return, take the same route and the path of the “2 Lakes”.

The lifs accessible for pedestrian
At an altitude of 3200m –and with its 360° view of more than 1000 summits in the French, Italian ansd Swiss Alps - the Cime Caron features one of the most grandiose mountain panorama in the all of Europe. An annotated map there allows you to identify Mont Blanc, Mont Brequin, the Peclet Gacier and its Peaks, La Meije and the Arves Peaks. To get there take the Cairn and Caron Gondolas and then the Cime de Caron cable-car.

The foot of the Péclet glacier is accessible by the Péclet Funitel in 8 minutes from the resort. Catering is available at the "Aiguilles de Péclet".

The Val Thorens - Orelle 1-day pedestrian pass allows you to explore the Maurienne side of the mountain area by taking the Cairn / Caron cable car, the Cime Caron cable car and the Orelle-Caron cable car.
