Welcome to the trail trails of Val Thorens ! On the advice of Julien Chorier, professional ultra-trailer and ambassador of the resort, we offer three permanent trail circuits, 6, 10 and 15 km.

From initiation to professional training, these trails are ideal for enjoying the benefits of altitude.

Our advice for traveling safely

  • Equip yourself: suitable shoes, bottle of water, warm, waterproof clothing (the weather changes quickly in the mountains), food supplies, sunscreen and your phone
  • Before you leave, check the weather 
  • Inform someone of your departure on the trails
  • Be vigilant if you come across mountain bikers or hikers

3 circuits (6, 10 and 15km), 3 levels!

1. Montaulever circuit

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Distance: 6 km
  • Elevation gain: 344m D+ Minimum altitude: 2235m Maximum altitude: 2576m
  • Departure/arrival point: Place Caron
  • An ideal first loop for acclimatization at altitude, a warm-up with a panorama of the Val Thorinois cirque. The trail runner is immersed in an alpine environment in the middle of magical landscapes and a natural and wild lake.

2. Mont de la Chambre circuit

  • Difficulty: difficult
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Elevation: 604m D+
  • Min altitude: 2234m
  • Maximum altitude: 2840m
  • Departure/arrival point: Place Caron
  • A first part which allows you to warm up before tackling the more technical and steep climb which takes you to the summit of Mont de la Chambre. A route emphasizing the difference in altitude and rewarded with a majestic view of the 3 Valleys, the Vanoise and Mont-Blanc.

3. Lac du Lou circuit

  • Difficulty: intermediate
  • Distance: 15 km
  • Elevation: 543 m D+
  • Min altitude: 1872m
  • Maximum altitude: 2360m
  • Departure/arrival point: Place Caron
  • A trail that allows you to discover the Lou valley, its lake and its refuge. A route emphasizing distance, with a significant climb after Lac du Lou. The balcony paths allow you to fully enjoy the Belleville valley.

Le Guides office offers 9 new trail routes to discover at the bottom of the Belleville Valley: several levels of difficulty depending on the distance, elevation and technicality of the route in the heart of varied landscapes.
