We asked Lucile about her piste groomer experience:
“It was the best! We learned all about Yves, who’s driven a piste grooming machine in Val Thorens for years.
He took us to the Boismint sector, on the Tetras run. It’s a fascinating job and when you love skiing as much as we do, it helps you understand just what we owe these night-time workers. It was also incredible to see how the machines have been improved, the onboard computer and how comfortable the cabin was! It was amazing to be facing vertically down the slopes, in the middle of the night, in a machine that weighs several tons.
Yves was very kind, especially to the children who bombarded him with questions.
Thank you again for letting us have this experience, and for unlocking the mystery of the machines that work so hard for our well-being and safety.

Are you a thrill-seeker? An exclusive night-time ziplining evening took place on the 3rd of January on the new La Bee zip line. After the ski runs closed, we met the Club’s special guests to go up to the top of the toboggan run in a tracked vehicle. The Club members were launched onto the zipline two at a time, with a magnificent sunset as their backdrop… A Savoyard aperitif awaited them on arrival, to help them warm back up and calm back down after all the excitement !

Would you rather go behind the scenes? Your wish is our command! This year, the Club is launching two new experiences packed with discoveries!
If you meet a member of the ski patrol, it’s generally either for an off-piste safety briefing, or because you’ve suffered an injury, neither of which is much fun… But there’s so much more to the ski patrol than that. Their job is really involved and they have a great deal to teach us.
This winter, we launched “live the life of a ski patroller”, a chance to share a unique experience with ski patrollers after the ski runs have closed. If you’d like to know more: we’ll tell you (almost) everything.
We’re also shedding some light on another unsung job… The ski lifts are an integral part of Val Thorens. You take them every day, but do you really know how they work?
In February, we launched “live the life of a ski lift operator”. Share the day-to-day experience of Grégory or Julien, who will explain how a driver-less gondola lift works and show you around the Moraine arrival station. An exciting experience awaits.
