Get into the swing of things….summer’s here!

As the sun sets, its last rays warming Vienne’s ancient stone walls and town squares, the crickets bring their daily recital to an end, making way for sounds of jazz, samba and other beats to rise up from the bars, courtyards and narrow streets. In the shade of centuries old plane trees, the most buzzing evening of the year, June 21st, begins.

Set on the banks of the River Rhône, a stone’s throw from the Roman ampitheatre, Vienne plays host to the most beautiful summer solstice festival, just days before the launch of its prestigious Jazz festival. Local residents, visitors, friends and onlookers stroll through the lively streets, calling out to each other, smiling, laughing out loud…. Meanwhile, the most subtle Havana-style melody floats out of an alleyway.

So, what are you up to this evening?

Val Thorens’ spirit never rests, and in conjunction with our friends at Vienne Jazz Festival, we’ve put together the most Live United of playlists for the night of all nights.

Let yourself go and enjoy….it’s the summer!
