Vail, Beaver Creek, Val Thorens, St Anton,... does the mere idea of skiing in these legendary resorts send a shiver down your spine?

Have you always dreamt of enjoying the power and intensity of Sierra Nevada, Wasatch's powder snow, the majestic Rockies, the urban slopes of Michigan and Minnesota, the inter-connected French Alps and the largest ski area in the world, exceptional skiing in the Swiss Alps and the magnificent Tyrolean Alps, all with a single skipass?

Have you heard of the Epic Race?

The principle is simple, be amongst the top 10 skiers from 26 resorts in 4 countries on 2 continents. The 10 winners will receive a lifetime skipass to all of these 26 dream spots!

The route to the stars is as follows:

USA: Afton Alps, Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Canyons, Eldora, Heavenly, Keystone, Kirkwood, Mt Brighton, Northstar, Vail

FRANCE: Brides-les-Bains, Val Thorens, Courchevel, La Tania, Les Menuires, Méribel, Orelle, St Martin de Belleville

AUSTRIA: Lech, St Anton, St Christoph, Stuben, Zürs

SWITZERLAND: Verbier

This season only, season ski pass holders from American resorts were able to take part. As always, 3 Valleys season ski pass holders are able to ski for 5 consecutive days for free in one of the American resorts listed above, on presentation of a valid season pass and accompanying documentation.

Each Epic Racer financed the challenge themselves, and no racers were allowed to ski in more than one resort per day in the United States and two resorts per day in Europe. This was to ensure that everyone enjoyed the best possible experience offered by each ski area.

To validate their visits to these destinations, participants had to:
Share 2 photos and 1 video per resort on a social network using the #epicrace hashtag
Have an official certificate stamped by local tourist organisations.

This challenge, which started at the end of November, finished on the 20th of December in Brides-les-Bains. It was a great success and almost 130 participants skied in the 26 resorts!

On the 20th of December, after 28 days of this race across the world, the Epic Race has given its verdict! The 10 winners are:

1/ Nick Annis (Loveland - Colorado) - Student at the Colorado School of Mines.
2/ Scott Annis (Loveland - Colorado), who wanted to make memories to share with his son Nick.
3/ Cory Heintz (Cottonwood Heights - Utah), who just couldn't say "no" to the chance of skiing in France.
4/ Bretagne Heintz (Cottonwood Heights - Utah), who grew up skiing in the mountains of the Midwest.
5/ Joe Jensen (Denver - Colorado), a miraculous cancer survivor.
6/ Steve Sacco (Denver - Colorado), a former meteorologist who found his perfect storm in the race!
7/ John Victor (Denver - Colorado), a former ski patrol team member in ??Vail.
8/ Michael Lahey (Longmont - Colorado), who saved all of his frequent flyer points to use in the Epic Race!
9/ Devin Rhinehart (Denver - Colorado), an engineer and member of "Team Fun" with Greg Hydle and Ashley Cooley .
10/ Greg Hydle (Golden - Colorado), whose red beard often meant he was confused with German rapper MC Fitti in European resorts.

"The Epic Race competitors are the most dedicated skiers and snowboarders I've ever seen. They all really kept with the spirit of the race and treated it as the adventure of a lifetime. They even made new friends. Congratulations to all the finalists who are to receive their 2014-2015 Epic Pass ski pass" Kirsten LYNCH, Vail (US) Marketing Manager.
