Loyal visitors to Val Thorens for many years, and also Club Val Thorens members, Isabelle and Christian tell us about their Val Tho.

How long have you been coming to Val Thorens ?

Isabelle: I’ve been coming for longer than Christian, I’d say 27 years.
Christian: Me, since 1995! We’ve only been coming here together since 2000. We didn’t meet in Val Thorens, but that would have made a great story.

Do you have any favourite places in Val Thorens you’d recommend?

Christian: Oh yes! For good food, la Ferme du Thorens, which has excellent products. And on a somewhat different tack, the l’Or Blanc shop is perfect for anyone looking for nice jewellery or stylish watches.
For hiring ski gear, I have no hesitation in recommending Chamois Sport: Welcoming, professional and friendly, they have everything you need, from equipment to little accessories like gloves and ski goggles…
And also, a great place where I often go and eat with friends is Café de Péclet: there’s something for everyone, it’s authentically local but not over the top: traditional tartiflette, very good duck breast fillets, a wonderful wine list…

What makes this resort special for you?

Isabelle: Val Thorens holds a lot of family memories, the kids and me learning to snowboard, the times we’ve all spent here together...
Christian: Yes, we’re a big group of 5 snowboarders! The special moments are the weeks like this one with great weather / good snow, the friendships that we’ve made with locals over the course of our visits, meeting up with family...
