Val Thorens
Before the vast construction works begin on the new gondola lift linking Orelle to Val Thorens, as well as the many other surprises that are to come, this year we are focusing on your experience both on and off the slopes !
-
Once you’ve admired the stunning view from Cîme Caron, which is one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps, you have the choice of not two but three routes to make your way back down again! In addition to le Col de l'Audzin and la Combe Caron, the brand-new red run - La Cîme, offers you even more ways to enjoy yourself!
-
Experienced skiers will love "l'Armoise", the new black run located in the Boismint sector
-
The snow front has been fitted out with a new covered moving walkway intended for use by children having lessons with the ESF French Ski School.
-
The "Cosmojet" toboggan run: skiers and non-skiers over the age of 5 can embark on a 45-minute descent over a 6km-long space-themed route. On the programme: scientific discoveries, laughter and adventure, rounded off with a warm drink and a selection of local produce in the "Cosmos" yurt.
-
The Bee double zip line: at 1.8km long, it reaches heights of 65 metres above the ski area! Split into three sections, an adrenalin-rush is guaranteed, and what’s more, you can enjoy the excitement ‘à deux’ because both zip lines start at the same time! Accessible to both skiers and pedestrians, the experience starts from the top of la Moutière chair lift and ends at Place Caron, in the resort centre.
Elsewhere in Les 3 Vallées
Les Ménuires
Our neighbouring resort of Les Ménuires has had a facelift this year, having invested in the upgrade of its ski lifts.
- The new les Bruyères gondola lift offers a higher level of comfort, whilst maintaining the original pylons and arrival and departure stations, in line with the resort’s eco-friendly approach.
- Les Granges chair lift and Le Roc 1 gondola lift have also been replaced in order to offer improved passenger flow.
As far as the ski runs go, la Masse sector’s artificial snow is now ensured thanks to a 78.000m3 dam which will supply water for the artificial snow production. The lake will be filled by excess water from neighbouring rivers.
Méribel
With the World Alpine Ski Championships coming to Méribel in 2023, the resort has already begun improvement works:
-
A first for France: "Legends" – the new 6-seater detachable chair lift on the snow front at La Chaudanne is fitted with heated seats and head rests, with each row of seats dedicated to a leading light in the world of Alpine Skiing who has played an important part in Méribel’s history.
-
La Cherferie ski tow has been replaced by the former 6-seater detachable Plan de l'Homme chair lift. This new lift offers easier access to the Cherferie sector, and also serves as an alternative for those wishing to go over to Saint Martin de Belleville’s ski area.
-
Le Mont Vallon’s 8-seater cabins have been replaced by cabins offering increased space and comfort, seating 10 people. The arrival station has also been refurbished.
Courchevel
Courchevel has ensured the snow cover on the Lac des Creux and Rama runs by installing 26 new artificial snowmakers.
As for the ski lifts, the link between "Le Village" and the Courchevel 1850 sector has been redesigned thanks to the installation of a new 10-seater gondola lift, and now boasts a passenger flow which is almost three times faster than before (2,400 people/ hour). Accessible to both skiers and pedestrians.
With all of these amazing new additions to discover, we can’t wait to welcome you to Val Thorens for the wintersports holiday of your dreams! We look forward to seeing you in Les 3 Vallées very soon!
