On the programme: banked turns, jumps, speed, technique... it will be exciting!
A broadcast on the channels l'Équipe and Eurosport
Thanks to a favourable opinion from the International Ski Federation, Val Thorens is hosting this year a stage of the Ski Cross World Cup on 19 and 20 December 2020, in an unprecedented context.
The competition will take place behind closed doors, but will be broadcasted on the L'Équipe and Eurosport channels, so as not to miss out on any of the action. Fans of the discipline, you will have the chance to follow the actions of both French and international athletes on the "Jean-Fred Chapuis" Ski Cross slope (Olympic champion, originally from the resort). The most important thing remains the race and the athletes. Thus, the organising team does everything possible to ensure a safe event for the teams and their staff via a strict health protocol. All of the resort's services are mobilised.
All the big international names in the discipline will be present with more than a hundred athletes to show off their skills. With four-man starts, elbow to elbow turns and jumps to master, ski cross remains one of the most impressive and technical snow sports... It is not the big names in ski cross such as Jean-Frédéric Chapuis, a native of the resort and Olympic champion, François Place and Youri Duplessis who will say the opposite!
On the "women's" side, more than thirty women skiers are expected on the ski cross track! The French team will count this year on 4 professionals: Alizée Baron, Amélie Schneider, Jade Grillet Aubert and Marielle Berger Sabbatel!
After a day dedicated to training and scouting, the competitors will compete in two heats over the weekend.
So, who will climb on the highest step of the podium? See you on 19 and 20 December on the l'Équipe and Eurosport channels to find out!
