Val Thorens (France) is the highest altitude resort in Europe and the highest point in the 3 Vallées ski area, the largest ski area in the world with over 600 kilometres of runs.

Skiing three valleys


Skiing in the Three Valleys seems to offer unlimited choice of pistes, cross-country trails and which snowpark today for the freestylers too will be the question. Our live webcams and ski maps will help you there as you don your ski gear and set off on your ski adventure…

With guaranteed snow coverage and groomed for excellent skiing, the slopes, all 600km of them are easily accessible and easy to navigate thanks to the elaborate and cutting edge cable car network of the Three Valleys, you will never have to wait long for a ride to your chosen landmark for the day’s descent.

Resort Infrastructure

For the last 15 years Val Thorens has committed itself to make the resort more accessible to the disabled – whether in lodging, parking, adaptive skiing or other activities.
Our objective: to encourage everyone celebrate the magic of mountain play.

For your convenience and comfort, a number of lodging options (hotels, lodges, apartments), restaurants and services (tourism office, parking) are now wheel chair accessible (see even reserved for the disabled).


For your security, we remind you of a few safety rules. (these rules were excerpted from the French Federation of Adaptive Sports rules book). 

-All sit-skiers must be accompanied by a competent skier who can lend assistance when necessary.
-On arrival, the escort must contact the proper authorities in order to be informed of the accessibility of specific runs, lifts and services.
-On the slopes, the escort assists the sit-skier in all situations.
-The safety bar must be down for the duration of the lift ride.
-The resort reserves the right to refuse access to all non-approved equipment.
-The use of a helmet is strongly recommended for sit-skiers.


In order to encourage disabled visitors to enjoy the sensation of sliding on snow, Val Thorens now offers significant lift pass reductions – up to 50% – both for the adaptive skiers and their escorts*

*On presentation of disabled identification :-50% off for all ski domains .

For those requiring an escort (vision impaired, wheelchair bound, autistic child), 50% off on lift pass – the same as disabled person. Note: the pass must be bought AT THE SAME TIME as the disabled person being escorted.
