La Grande Première

Come and put on your skis for the Grande Première in Val Thorens, November 25 & 26, 2023!

It's THE weekend to launch the winter season and the meeting place for all snow sports enthusiasts with on the program:

• skiing, skiing, skiing, the discovery of the ski area and initiations to learn new glides or simply to improve.
• a test village at Place Caron with all the latest news and equipment tests. All types of snow sports are on display thanks to the presence of more than fifty major brands of ski, snowboard, accessories, ski touring, freeride skiing...
• many festive activities throughout the weekend: a fun area (mini snowpark..), Live DJ, quizzes, many gifts to win... 
• a Raclette Party on Saturday from 5pm followed by a fireworks display at 6.30pm
• the "Grande Première Séance" with the projection of mountain films, on Saturday evening at the Church of Val Thorens!
   

The programme of the 2022 edition

Friday 18th November

• 3pm - 8pm: Collection of test cards at Place Caron (or at the Tourist Office in case of bad weather)

Saturday 19th November

• 8.00 am: opening of the "Welcome" tent on Place Caron to collect test cards free of charge and open to all
• 8.45am: opening of the locker
• 8.45am: opening of the ski lift ticket office
• 9:00 am: opening of the ski lifts
• 9.00 am: opening of the exhibitors' village and launch of the tests on Place Caron
• All day at Place Caron: DJ, quiz with prizes to be won, photocall, initiation and discovery of the ski area with UCPA, mini-snowpark
• 9.00am - 10.30am: Breakfast offered by Val Thorens at the Rond-Point des Pistes. Free and open to all.
• From 11am: opening of the ephemeral brewery of the Brasseurs Savoyards - beers and goodies to win!
• 2.30 pm: entertainment in the exhibitors' village, many prizes to be won! While stocks last
• From 2pm: children's entertainment at the bottom of the Place Caron
• 3.30 pm: last equipment loans
• 4pm: mulled wine offered on the UCPA stand
• 4.45pm: closing of the lifts
• 5pm: Departure for the discovery ski tour with Dynafit (on registration at the Dynafit stand, limited places)
• From 5.15pm: Raclette Party on Place Caron offered by Raclette de Savoie and live DJ
• Right after the raclette: fireworks (at about 6.30 pm)
• "La Grande Première session": screening of mountain films from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm at the Val Thorens Church

Sunday 20th November

• 8.00 am: opening of the " Welcome " tent on Place Caron to collect the free test cards, open to all
• 8.45am: opening of the locker
• 8.45am: opening of the ski-lift ticket office
• 9:00 am: opening of the ski lifts
• 9.00 am: opening of the exhibitors' village and launch of the tests on Place Caron
• All day at Place Caron: DJ, quiz with prizes to be won, photocall, initiation and discovery of the ski area with UCPA, mini-snowpark
• 9.00am - 10.30am: Breakfast offered by Val Thorens at the Rond-Point des Pistes. Free and open to all.
• From 11am: opening of the ephemeral brewery of the Brasseurs Savoyards - beers and goodies to win!
• 2.30 pm: "Ring Toss" animation - many prizes to win! While stocks last
• 3.30 pm: last loans of equipment
• From 2pm: children's activities
• 4.45pm: closing of the lifts

Have you booked your weekend for La Grande Première? Pre-register for the ski/snow test!
 

The tests will only be accessible to holders of a ski pass and a test card (free on presentation of the pass). Once pre-registered, this test card can be collected on site with 2 proofs of identity (identity card, passport or driving licence + health card, credit card, student card...)

• The day before the event, on November 18th from 3pm to 8pm Place Caron
• On November 19th from 8am to 4pm at the test village, Place Caron
• On November 20th from 8am to 3pm at the test village, Place Caron
