Val Thorens : pioneer station of innovation
Always in search of innovation, SETAM (operating company for ski lifts in Val Thorens) is offering a brand new service on the chairlifts for the next ski seasons, which will revolutionize the time spent on the ski lifts.
Attentive to the needs of skiers, and after two winters of market research with Val Thorinoise customers, the resort is finally ready to launch the very first seats equipped with functional raclette machines for the 2019-2020 season.
In order to best optimize travel times in the ski area, state-of-the-art devices will soon be installed on the guardrails of the Pionniers chairlift. The facility, which is very busy around 11 a.m., is the ideal place for a quick snack before the lunch break.
The boarding areas will also be equipped with cheese dispensers, the thickness of the slices of which is carefully calculated to obtain optimal cooking depending on the travel time.
Thanks to this innovation, the station Val Thorens intends to maintain its position as leader in mountain innovation.
Understand the concept in a few minutes:
Benjamin Blanc, director of the Vallée des Belleville slopes service, Jérôme Grellet, general director of SETAM, and Vincent Lalanne, director of the Tourist Office of Val Thorens, explain to you in pictures the approach followed by the various actors of the station to carry out this unique project:
Pioneers: the first raclette chairlift in the world !
Still in the testing phase at the time of writing, the device will be operational for the 2019-2020 season. We are expecting many of you for the inauguration of this world first in the world of ski lifts!
